Traditional Literature
Title: The Ugly Ducklings and Other Fairy Tales
Genre: Traditional Literature
Author: Hans Christian Andersen
Age Group: 4-6
Teacher Evaluation: For me as a teacher this would help benefit younger kids because fairy tales are always a good way to get the young minds of the children going. Also having other fairy tales and not just one is a good way to keep young children engaged in what your reading to them and also these are fairy tales that have been around for decades so teaching them and reading them to the children now will bring the tradition of these tales staying around for longer. I remember this book when was younger and I enjoyed whenever the teacher would pull it out for us to listen to her read because we liked those stories and hearing stories that have always been around we could hear them for a couple years and know exactly what happens.
Honorable Mentions: The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz and Stone Soup
Every teacher no matter the grade needs to have a book of Fairy Tales on his/her bookshelf. When students are turning a deaf ear. Whip it out and just read!
